Signs of an Eye Emergency
How do you know when to seek medical help? Some signs and symptoms are always worth getting checked by an eye doctor as quickly as possible, such as:
- Sudden vision loss
- Eye pain
- Fluctuating vision
- Mismatched pupil sizes
- An eye suddenly moving independently of the other
- A bulging or protruding eye
- Double vision
- A black eye
- Floaters or flashes
- Bleeding in the eye (on the white, iris, or pupil)
- Bleeding from the eye
- New, severe headaches
- Severe itching
